If They're In - Vote Them Out - Give Someone Else A Chance The Solution to Regaining a Government of The People, By The People and For The People Pete Di Lauro - petedilauro@earthlink.net Ex Marine-Viet Nam Vet-Retired NYC Police This is an open letter to anyone that is interested in making America a better place, both for us today and for the future generations of tomorrow. I believe I've come up with the perfect and maybe the only solution we as a people have left against a government that has distanced itself from the very people they took an oath to serve. I am of the opinion that any elected politician, no matter what they say or do should serve only one term in the office they were elected to. Anyone would be hard pressed to convince me that out of 300 million American’s that the Clinton’s, Bush’s and Kennedy’s along with the 435 Congressman and 100 Senators are the only ones capable of running this country. I am starting this mailing to everyone on my e-mail list, and asking that anyone reading this letter forward it to everyone on their mailing lists. I would also ask that everyone read my Blog at http://home.earthlink.net/~petedilauro/ to get a better understanding of why I am doing this. I welcome any help, questions and/or suggestions about "getting the word out". I will also be mass e-mailing this letter before election day and sending letters to the media, both major parties, other organizations and groups with various other causes, suggesting that if they want their candidates to be elected that they should put forth alternate candidates in every election and at every level from the President to the local town Clerk because our message and solution are simple: If They're In - Vote Them Out - Give Someone Else A Chance As election day approaches do you really want to listen to another round of the blame game with our incumbent politicians that have been in office for numerous terms and never seem to get anything done but now again comes the promise if reelected that they will finally be able to do something? We did away with Monarchs in this country with the American Revolution and now we are creating our own Monarchs by re-electing the Bush’s, the Clinton’s and The Kennedy’s. Are these self serving multi millionaire career political families even representative of We The People anymore? I think not. There are only 435 Congressional seats and 100 Senatorial seats yet an eligible population of some 220 million Americans that can fill those seats. Why do we keep reelecting the same people who have been singing the same old song over and over again just for the sake of being elected? Do you think it is fair to take the American dream away from future generations of the now 300 million Americans that may someday wish to run for office themselves? By continuing to re-elect the same people we do just that. I don't think that’s what our forefathers had in mind when drafting the Constitution. It’s been said that "if we don't change, we stagnate", isn't that what’s happening to We The People now? Someone is always telling us that it’s "us" against "them", "men" against "women" "whites against blacks " or "Republicans" against "Democrats". Our Politicians have managed to divide the country with this process while systematically lining their pockets and putting "We The People" deeper in debt to the tune of a 5 trillion dollar trade deficit and a 9 trillion dollar national deficit. It will take many future generations to pay this debt down and that is why I say "they keep us as economic slaves fighting for the crumbs while they walk away with the pie". When we keep reelecting the same people we are effectively cutting our own throats. If we don't reclaim our God given heritage and return to be the nation of We The People, By The People and For The People, we are dooming ourselves and any of our descendants to a life of strife without a democracy. If we don't do something soon we won't be able to do anything at all because it seems that every law our representatives pass, every bill they sign and every penny they spend (which is our tax dollars) is just tightening the noose around our necks, in the name of patriotism or it being in our own best interest. Did you ever ask yourself why do we pay the same price dictated by OPEC for oil that comes out of the middle east, as we do for oil coming out of a pipeline that the American people paid for or from oil leases granted by the American people in Alaska, Oklahoma or the Gulf of Mexico? Do you see a pattern of corruption when we elect people who can't explain why all of a sudden they become multi-millionaires while in office? Although it’s usually at the taxpayers’ expense with one or more of theirs or a relatives companies doing business with the government from having insider government contracts. Or when out of the blue they are elected to the Board of Directors of a company(s) that does business with the Government. Look at Bill and Hillary Clinton .... their net worth was about $ 300K when he got elected President. Now, with Hillary as a senator, their net worth has escalated into the muti-millions with Bill by himself now worth in excess of 50 million dollars. They made millions on the backs of every American in the country while we still have people that can't feed themselves or their families. This is an absolute disgrace and blatant circumvention of the offices they held and oaths that they took. Vice President Cheney’s company got a $650 billion contract to rebuild Afghanistan and another similar $850 billion to rebuild Iraq by circumventing the normal open bidding process. Can you understand now why we have a 9 trillion dollar national deficit with these two items alone representing 1.5 trillion of that debt? Another display of greed, gluttony and degradation. While they keep us as economic slaves, they are getting our kids killed in countries around the world while we wave the flag in the name of patriotism. One can't help but wonder what the real reasons we are fighting and losing American lives are. Is it for our own security? The good of the people of those countries? Or to line the pockets of the already filthy rich? Whatever it is, the solution is simple and no matter what they may come back with: |
